MOONWALK Children Competition
Deadline for submissions:
Rio Tinto / Mars Simulation – April 1, 2016 Winning submission and other selected entries
Marseilles / Moon Simulation – May 1, 2016 Winning submission and other selected entries
The MOONWALK Consortium invited children aged 6 to 14 years to actively participate in the space project MOONWALK. A COMIC BOOK was released, telling the story of four children’s journey to the Moon and Mars, along with their personal robots. The comic book offers a lot of information on how such an expedition to the Moon and to Mars could happen and also presented the tasks of the competition.
Due to the recent events in Brussels, winners of the Children Competition were able to choose between travel to the Mission Control Centre in Brussels or to the respective Simulation Site to the task they won; either Rio Tinto / First sentence to be spoken on Mars – or – Marseilles / Design a new flag for the Moon. Both winners have selected to go to the respective Simulation Sites.
Entries were received from children from the following countries; Austria, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Spain, United Kingdom, Venezuela
